Hello,

I have a user that wants a different name. Fine and dandy with me, but can it be changed? Or do I have to move everything from his dir and put it in a newly created one?
Hope I was of some help...

This should change the name and move the home directory.
Code:
usermod -d newuser -m -l newuser olduser
Check the usermod manpage for more detail and options.

It worked, but I did it while the guy was using his shell, and then I forgot to put /home/newusr
so his new thing went to /root/ and then that opened a big can of worms.
We got that straightened out though.
Thanks for the help.:) Hope I was of some help...
