I have 2 non-related groups of users running on the same network. I have the 501 running dhcp for group #1 with a standard subnet of 192.168.1.XXX and life is good.

The other group runs a non-standard subnet of 180.180.180.xxx and I would like to let one of their computers through the 501.

Their computer name on the 501 is "Tech" and I have them added to the access list:

access-list inside_access_in permit ip host Tech any

That still isn't enough. What am I lacking, or is this even possible? If this is a really stupid thing to do please let me know... I've had a really great week and can stand the pain.

Thanks!!

Tim

Is the second subnet on the same physical medium? I.e. Everyone is plugged into the same hub, but some are using a different network?

Yes, both subnets are currently on the same medium-- A few months from now I'll be in a new building where I will have new cable & jacks to isolate them, so if I'm able to make this work now I'll have to come up with another solution then.

I am not sure if the PIX can handle secondary addresses. You will probably need a router to route between the two subnets, and then route to the PIX.
