I have a Netgear cg3000dcr. It's a combination router with an integrated modem. There are 4 outputs on the device. If I turn off the dchp router functionality of the device and use it only as a modem, will all 4 ports still issue 4 IPs? Allowing me to connect 2 separate routers to the modem? or will the modem only operate as a single port output allowing only 1 router to be interfaced?
Currently, I am using the device as a modem/router. I have internet service with Comcast. I have a supplier who has a router connected to the Netgear modem/router. They don't want to turn off the dhcp capability of their router. Instead they want me to turn off the Netgear router and solely use it as a modem. I don't want to operate my network behind their router and would prefer have a separate feed to the modem. I am seeking to connect each router to a separate modem output.
Thanks, DM
