Hello

i am more a microsoft and linux person, with some cisco exp.. i have a 1604 router with 1 10mb ethernet, 1 ISDN port, and an empty slot for an add on card.

Can i get another ethernet card for this WIC slot, and use this router to replace the linksys i use on my home network, utilizing 1 DHCP and 1 static IP address....

or should this go up for auction on ebay?

thanks

If is isn't broken, leave it alone. (unless you want to learn)

I would recommend sticking with the Linksys. They're cheap, easy to configure, and it's already there. Why would you want to replace it with something much more complicated and expensive?

well,

i like the linksys, prefer sonicwall for more options and settings, but want to use the cisco IOS more, i already have this 1604 sitting here from a older network, it works fine, and IOS is more configurable, i have 3 IP address i can use from Cable DHCP, a linux and 2000 network..so i want to put up another access route to the linux network seperate from NT/2k for more learning, i also hqve a ipchains firewall going up, since i hav enot found a good simulator, that is cheap....
