hello all

my probem is that i want to import die detected devices from Campus manager to the list of the RME inventory, at the moment i make it by a modified file but that isn't effective ( import devices from file).
is it possible to make it automatic --> and then i will rype or change the password for the detected devcices ( reconfigure the automatic devices per ( snmp) with the TACACS ( telnet loging Pwd) ! that i can make config changes ( automatic rules etc changing ntp server addresses or login baners and so one !

Hi Cal,

No problem. I am not a native english speaker either (I speak portuguese).

Devices are detected by ANI (Campus Manager) and then they must be synchronized with Essential (RME). RME, bu itself, is not able to discovery any device.

When synchronizing to Essential (Server Configuration -> Setup -> ANI Server Admin -> Device Synchronization) you basically send device credentials and IP address/host name. This is what you see en the RME Inventory (List Devices).

Credentials mean basically "community strings", only. Any other password (telnet password, enable password, etc) must be updated in RME using the Update Device Attributes.

So, changing devices configuration is not related to Campus Manager, because it is not concerned about configuration, unless you change the credentials. In this case you will need to synchronize ANI (Campus Manager) from RME.

If you change device configuration (like NTP server, login banners, as you said) you may trigger RME to automatically update the "Configuration Management" when such changes occurs. This is done at:
Resource Manager Essentials
->Administration
->Configuration Managemenent
->General Setup
->Change Probe Setup
->Listen to syslog messages

Is this what you want?

Please, let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks fmonteiro :) that was it.
