Camera Iris

Can anyone point me in the direction of a tutorial that will show me how to create a camera iris (aperature)? I learned how to create a segmented circle, but I need to modify the segments to look like the iris of a camera.

Couldn't you just make a circular selection centered around the segmented circle and apply the 'Distort>Twirl filter'?

Moe: It could have been a real ugly situation, but luckily I managed to shoot him in the spine.
