We had an issue with Cognos Reportnet last week whereby the ReportNet ContentStore database user had been inadvertantly removed (in terms of access) from the ContentStore database - I added the user again, and went into Cognos Configuration Manager to re-enter the user details - and then clicked Save. When the save routine gets down to the 2nd item (Cryptographic Information) it fails with the following error:

[Cryptography]
1. [ ERROR ] CAM-CRP-1093 Unable to read the contents of the keystore 'C:/Program Files/cognos/crn/configuration/signkeypair\jCAKeystore'. Reason: java.io.IOException: error constructing MAC: java.security.NoSuchProviderException: JCE cannot authenticate the provider BC java.util.jar.JarException: file:/C:/Program Files/cognos/crn/bin/jre/1.3.1/lib/ext/bcprov-jdk13-113.jar is not signed by a trusted signer.

Anyone seen this before?

It allows me to run connection manager, but none of the reports are there - so i am hoping that resolving this will bring my reports/info back!

Thanks

not quite sure what hte issue was... but this the error is likely to have occurred because you have a file called jce_1_2_1.jar in bin/1.3.1/jre/lib/ext. try deleting the file from all your servers in a mulitserver install..

i'll bet you have not restarted the service for quite some time.
