Hello all, first time here please help!!
I'm on a cs1000, 3900 sets. i have about 20 phones all with the same line appearencs on them. the main phone when call comes in on the Secretary puts the call on hold to have someone pick it up from another phone and they can't. only from the secretary's phone. I've checked cls for xha and it's xhd, I've deleted her phone and re-built it also loaded the latest firware to it. this is still happening not every call just a dozen calls a week. also we are at 7.5 release. someone told me to delete all the phones and rebuild them?? thanks for any help

See if you have XHA on the main phone in the CLS section, if so try XHD. If that does not help post the print out of the phone. Another possible quick fix is to program a 500 set with the same extension, does not have to attach to a phone, just a dummy, see if that works.

The Secretary is probably pressing Conf or Trans before they think they are putting the call on hold. Other phones cannot grab the call unless it is a pure "hold"

Call her, have her put you on hold and it will probably work.

Hello again; does anyone have any idea's about this problem? I just don't want to delete and rebuild 20 plus phones for no reason. thanks all

This maybe mute, nut make sure the other sets are not in the shifted mode and not seeing the proper line buttons. I have ran several calls that this was the point - "put call on hold and can't retrieve the call" usually the same set though.

Hi All just another update with this strange problem; while on the floor trying re-create the issue it happened!
I went to a phone to reboot it and picked up the handset and it right to key 1 instead of key 0? nothing showed on key 0 that the line was in use at all just blank and when I hit the button for key 0 nothing happened either. then I find out key 0 was in use? so this showed up on 2 phones (3904) but 10 mins before the same phone did not have this issue?? Again I'm being told to delete all phones and re-build but it's 20 phones and in hospital NICU unit which is tough to do. any other idea's out there???

That's cause you just rebooted the phone and it had not synched with the system. I'm not sure that is a valid test.

Actually no I did not get a chance to reboot it at that point. sorry i guess I did not make that clear enough sorry
I was just about to reboot the phone and picked up the handset (just because) and noticed this.

Ahhh. Do you have a lot of cases where these phones are on the same line card? If you scatter all the phones in different loops, shelves and cards, you might solve this. It is a known issue that having many phones with the same extn in the same card or shelf, there are problems.

And if you are going to move them to different loops then you should probably rebuild them while you're at it instead of using the mov command.

In your CLS change IRA to IRD and OLA to OLD now test it.

Nortel all the way.
