Recently moved, after move in and re-install, some config issues are wacky. One ext. # continually has all their calls ring on almost all the sets. Help!!
That set may have been punched down on a DN that was originally programmed as a Phantom DN for some other purpose. What other things are wacky?
Give us a bit more info. please. Which Norstar system etc.
Was set relocation turned on when you moved the system?
Thanks MarvO. It's a 4.0 system...The other wacky things: no caller ID on certain sets, no message notification.. I've figured out, problem solved. This one I'm pretty lost on. Set relocation was turned on...We had a tech in to straighten all that out, all the extensions are ringing where they're supposed to now. Just not sure why this particular extension has all her calls ringing everywhere....More help pretty please!
When her calls ring elsewhere, do they come in on the intercom key or elsewhere? What is displayed in the window of the other sets when her set rings on them? Do a Feature # 4 on her set to make sure it is not forwarded anyplace.
Is her extension the right number?
Yes her extension is the right place, as in she gets the calls to her office too....And it's not forwarded, that was the first thing I tried...When her calls come in, it shows on every phone, 'Line 001- Her Name' so I don't think it's coming through the intercom..
Thanks Again!!
it sounds like line 001 is set to appear and ring on all these other phones. Look atthe programming of all these other phones. if you don't want line one ringing on these phones take it off them.
Yep, it certainly sounds like line 001 is simply assigned to all phones.
If you had some kind of programming loss then when you reinstalled it with default square template, it automatically assigns lines 1 and 2 to all phones.
Thanks Nortellian! Haven't tried the line config yet...Thought on the expanded version (and 4 tel. lines) we could support all calls coming in on the main line, ie: line 1. All calls right now come in on line 1, it's only calls to her that cause this problem...
Cheers
Do a FEATURE * 0 and hit the button that is labeled LINE 1, or the button that it is ringing on. It might be a hunt group button, or ILG. S.W.C.A. not available on 4.0, so not that.
Everything else seem fine on the system except for this one issue???????
Ugh..Thanks for all your help, Guys and Gals...Alas, I can't find the book on how to re-assign lines to change the Line 001 on her phone....Anybody got time for a walkthrough?
BTW, MarvO, tried the Feature *0..doesn't look like a hunt group...just says Line 001...
Could this have any involvment with Pick Up Groups?
REALL REALLY APPRECIATE ALL THE HELP, MRoberts, MarvO & Nortellian....You guys are my heros!
Sorry, one more thing...It's not only Line 1 calls that ring at everyone's phones, it's all calls on all lines going to her extension that ring at other phones...So regardless of the line #, if it's ringing at her ext., it's ringing at 3 others too...
Thanks!!

That's the ticket...Thanks MRoberts!! You rule!! It was the line assignment, it was hard trying to figure that out without the books....Thanks so much for your paitence!!!
Could the function listed above assist an "operator" (telephone with the extension in question) with the main telephone to eavesdrop on calls, or do anything else to compromize security / privacy?
