Hi All,

I want to know if calls can be retrieved from Logger. I mean to say if an oldest token can be retreived from Logger once deleted OR is there a way to recover data from unformatted Logger Drive.

if call is deleted from logger then you have a few options

1. have you archived the calls to tape/dvd or storage center?
2. logger snapshot tool will allow you to copy the contents of what is on logger now but if call is deleted then this tool is no good
3. if you have storage center and the archive flag is 9 deleted then one would hope that customer informed you of retention and if retention is past then call is gone

how was call deleted?

Hi nice12345,

My question is simple and specifically about logger. Since calls are saved in logger for specific time in an unformatted drive.

Currently we discovered that calls from past 15 days were not archived and 15% of the data is deleted from logger. Now I want to recover the data since this costs us in millions against each sim registration call.

try logger snapshot tool, you can download off extranice website. you may want to get customer to invest in some monitoring :)

Thank you nice. I have checked LST but it doesn't help for retrieving deleted calls from logger. LST, I believe, can retrieve till oldest token. I want to recover beyond it. Also for monitoring, we have sentinel here.

Normally we can recover lost data from formatted drives but here we have unformatted drive so just curious.

try loggin a case with NICE- believe it will cost :( any tools out there rely on drive been formatted so a bit more difficult. im sure if you raise a case with NICE they will tell you if its offered as a service.

If the call was deleted by the logger by its normal FIFO process then recovering the audio that was deleted from the unformatted partition will do nothing for you via normal playback methods as there will be no entry in the loggers audio database that corresponds to it. You could use some 3rd party undelete tools to find the files on the E: partition and recover them but you probably won't be able to do anything with them either. The bottom line is here that if its deleted then its gone and this is the line to pass back to the business.

Also, the logger deletes calls in 1 scenario only, that is FIFO. Calls are not kept on the logger for a specified period of time and are deleted only when the call storage area is full. This deletion takes place regardless of archiving status on the logger and is dependent on the logger being setup to continue recording whan its call storage is filled.
