3300 with two stations, and two analog lines.

my station is #21 and my number is xxx4015
her stations is #22 and her number is xxx4001

if I call 4001 it rings at her desk
if I call 4015 it rings at my desk

when she calls out, caller id shows xxx4015 and so people that call back call to my desk even though I didnt call them.

why?

Do you have any other users of 3300? Fow two people is much more cost effective to get two anaog lines and get two multiline phones.

It really depends how you access external analog lines. If you wish to have strict assignment of those lines you may hit the situation when you will get a call transfered from 4001 and she will not be able to make another call because you already holding her line.

Plus are you an administrator of the system or just asking how to operate your phone?

My company gave me this 3300 to learn on as a lab 3300, since I rarely deal with 3300s in the field. Im the Admin. I dont want any calls transfered, I just want strict assignment of 4001 to set 22 and 4015 to set 21.

its a MXe using the embedded analog
2 1 1 3 is trunk number 1
2 1 1 4 is trunk number 2

trunk group number 1 has trunk number 1
trunk group number 2 has trunk number 2

ip phone device ID 1 is a 5220 phone number 21
ip phone device ID 2 is a 5207 phone number 22

directory number 21 has button number 3 assigned single line button directory number 1 ring type ring

directory number 22 has button number 3 assigned single line button directory number 2 ring type ring

Does anyone know why it is acting like this?

How are your phones set up for outdialing?

Trunk group with dial 9 access?, direct trunk select?, other?

It seems likely that you need to restrict access to the trunks for outgoing calls so that Set A calls out on Trunk A and Set B calls out on Trunk B.

There are several ways you can do this but the simplest would probably be by using the interconnect field for said devices.

I forgot how to do all that route stuff let me check it out

digits dialed 9 with 7 to follow uses route 1
route 1 uses trunk group 1

oh, I see when anyone presses nine it grabs my line, because trunk group 1 is my line.

I dont know how someone would keep track of all this stuff if they didnt deal with it every day.

for the mean time I programmed 8 with seven digits to use my line and 9 with 7 uses her line.

What is interconnect, could you explain it to me?

Actually in real life it's very rare situation when you need 1:1 set and lines assignments. In this case just get $10 analog sets and hook them up directly to the lines. With PRI connection you can use any line in the trunk and program caller ID extension to number mapping. Analog line numbers assigned by the phone company and cannot be changed in normal environment. Mitel ICP comes with a very comprehencive help. Just search using keyword "interconnect" or any other in question.

When setting up the phone and trunk it asked you to assign an interconnect number (Typically set to 1)

If set A was set to 1 and Set B was set to 2

Trunk A would be set to 3 and Trunk B set to 4.

Then in your interconnect tables you would allow:

1 to 2 and 1 to 3, 2 to 1 and 2 to 4

1 to 4 and 2 to 3 would be denied.

With this setup the sets could talk to each other but could not use each others trunks.

my 5 cents.

you could use barring, provided you know it backwards. you'll be able to force certain extensions across certain trunks only by using CORs.

if you know how to use barring then you would add lists to all your digits dialed under ARS. Each list will have two or more routes. these routes will reference different trunk groups with your different trunks and also different cor groups.

If you don't know barring that well it's probably better to use interconnect restriction kwbmitel explained to the letter.
