Ok.. this is rediculous, but I've gotta do something. I have one user in a remote office that uses the Attendant console and acts as the receptionist for that office. She says she's having some trouble remembering that she puts people on hold!!! WHAT??!!? anyway.. she has a 7960 phone and like i said, uses the attendant console.

She says she needs to have her phone chirp at her or do something to remind her that there's a call on hold. one of our help desk people was talking to her about something and that lady left our help desk on hold for 10 minutes cause she started something else after putting the call on park!! unbelievable.

Is ther somehting can do to make her phone blink, ring, or tap her on the shoulder so she picks the call back up?

I'm using CCM 3.3(3) with newest loads on the phones as well.. any ideas?

There is a service parameter that you can set to have calls automatically directed back to the station that parked them. This should have been turned on and set to 60 seconds by default. You can find it in the following location:

CCM Admin --> Service Menu --> Service Parameters --> CallManager --> Cluster Wide Parameters (Feature - General) Section --> Under the Call Park Reversion Timer

Hope this helps.

Call Park isn`t that something different. i.e in a Warehouse cal for Mr Jones on 1234. Jones woudl then go to any handset and use call park follwoed by 1234.

On hold is different. I would also like to know how

Yeah Wayne, you're right. Sorry, i should of used the word "parked" in my description. The calls are on hold, nothing else.. i'm still looking for a cure to this ladies memory problems..

Fire her and get someone who knows how to answer phones? :p

you're right.. it's just not worth the config hassle. She's gone.

NO WAIT!

I found this in the Services->Service Parameters->CallManager

"""
Hold Type:

This parameter specifies valid value as True or False. Setting the parameter to False (default) makes handset lamp wink when a call is on hold. For Japan NTT (Nipon Telephone Telegraph), user can set this parameter to True, which makes handset lamp flash during hold.
This is a required field.
Default: false.

Go figure...i can't get it to work though!

Nevermind....opened a cisco TAC case and they told me that the HOLD TYPE* was to be removed in the newer versions cause it never worked right!! HA HA
