Calls going to coverage appearance eventhough forwarding is turned on

I have an IP office release 3.1. when a call comes to station A and he does not pick up it goes to covereage appearance on station B. Station A has forwarding button so when station A leaves for the day he puts forwarding on to forward calls to his cell but the calls still go to coverage appearance station B. I don't think the forwarding can overide the coverage appearance. Is there a work arround? Any ideas will help thanks all.
