We have an FX line pointing toward a phantom extension that, after a brief message, forwards the call to the organization's operator (done because of the operator being located on another networked switch). When on night mode, the FX callers, as well as regular lines, are transferred to the Voicemail system where they can choose extensions to be transferred to.

For some reason, when the FX callers leave a message, the message is garbled.

Any Ideas?

What happens with live calls?

Is the quality Good?, Bad or WHAT?

Live calls are fine as far as I know. Live call quality is fine. At least no one has been complaining.

Are ALL FX calls garbled?

Can you make an FX call during the DAY, and if so, how does it sound?

-AND- if you can do that, can you make another and have the operator send you to a MAIL BOX that you can listen to later?

Is the FX line perhaps an IP trunk?

Normally, yes, but today, they sometimes do weird stuff with IP trunks.

OK, then try deleting and recreating the voice mailbox, and see if the garbling clears up.
