I inherited a BCM 400 3.5 through a company acquisition and I’m getting user complaints of random calls dropping. Both inbound and outbound. 12 trunks, 3 analog trunk modules. The users state they will be in the middle of a conversation and they just hear dead air on both ends, no dial tone is returned. I’m new to the Nortel BCM and was looking for some direction, are there any type of logs or alarm monitor that may point me in the right direction. If so where are they located in the tree? Also any analog trunk parameters that I could check? To this point I have been unable to duplicate the problem. I also have another BCM 400 that I could swap modules with if need be. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Could be bad card, bad trunk port, problem telco lines or system needs patching.

U can use BCM monitor to watch calls come in or go out.

Is it possible to busy out trunks to isolate troubles?

You could either program all your lines on the main phone and test them from there or remove some of the lines from Pool A(i suppose).
When they say the lines are cutting does it bring them back to time and date on the phone?
If not they could try to put the call on hold and retrieve it, they should be able to see the line number.
Also make sure that the amphenol are firmly attached to the modules.
