We are having an issue with calls dropping in our call center. Of course the carrier says it is the PBX and Avaya says it is the carrier. All of the agents are on IP Agent V7. The call comes in and the agent is talking for about 5 minutes and then the call will drop. It is very random. Clans look good and the DS1's are clean. Some have maybe 1 errored second, but nothing major. No alarms or errors in the PBX.

This is happening across multiple trunk groups and carriers. We do have a vendor meet set up with 2 of the carriers and Avaya, but what else can we check? We have an s8700 V5.1.

Any help is appreciated.

Any issues with your Medpro's? We had a situation a while back with similar symptoms. Call would not actually drop, but talk path would be lost. It was very random. I Found a mismatch on port speed settings. Medpro was locked to 100/full but the data switch was set to auto negotiate. Check for any instances of medpro ports going out of service intermittently. its something else to check out...

Excellent idea....port speed is something that needs to be checked for most VoIP issues. I always forget how important re-checking this is as ports seem to magically change.
