On one of our merlin magix systems, calls from extension 851 to extension 829 are being answered automatically by 829's speakerphone.

Does anyone know how to de-activate this?

Thanks,
Jeff

Turn off the HFAI Button.

It stands for HANDS FREE ANSWER INTERCOM.

By default the second SA button is Voice
Go into Centralized Programming, enter the extension #
press the SA Voice button and press **19
This should change the SA button to ring.

Photon33 describes changing the calling party's phone. Do you want ext 851 to place ONLY ringing (not voice-announced) calls internally? If so, then that's the right solution. Perhaps you need to label the phones correctly and instruct the users: press SA-RING if you want the call to ring, and SA-VOICE if you want the call to announce on speaker.

I want x851 to be able to just lift the receiver, dial 829, have the call ring on 829's phone, and 829 has to lift the receiver to take the call.

829 said the person calling from 851 is driving her crazy.

Let me know what you guys think. Thanks for your help.

Jeff
