Exception 1000 Did anyone find a solution for this problem yet?
I have a call pilot 3.1 and its not booting up, it’s not a software card and it’s not the power supply .I checked with RS232 connection its keep booting up and repeat the same message exception 1000 errors.
I had the same problem before and I had to send it back to Nortel, but I’m wondering if someone here has a solution and willing to share it. Thanks in advance.

When it keep rebooting it can be:
IP address was changed (disconnect from network switch)
Cannot find boot files (try upgrading software to latest rls of 3.1)
Files are corrupt (same as above)

Or replace software,PS or CP.

I've fixed 2 of these by changing the IP address back to the default setting (192.168.110.10). Otherwise it's probably toast. You can try another software card, but I haven't had any luck when I get exception 1000.

I already tried another software card and another power supply and the connection to the system is ok ,I tested that by replacing the whole CP with another one .I also changed the IP address to default but all that didn’t help ,That’s why I was asking if anyone has a solution ,as I mention in the past I had to send it back to Nortel for replacements but this one is not under warranty and I’m not sure what it could be ,the problem not in the software card ,its in the CP unit it self and its some kind of corruption but I wish I know what to do to be able to get it out of the exception 1000 error.

I know it’s definitely the CP unit, but unfortunately I don’t know how to go about, fix it. I heard that’s someway to fix that issue with some boot up software sequence and its not a hardware failure on the unit ,so there no need to replace actual chips .So I was wonder if anyone here has an idea or the process, I will be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

It’s not the software card, and I’m aware of the current software version and even when I swap the software card with another working card, the CP still not booting up and still gives the exception 1000 errors like described above.

You were asked to post the boot sequence, only the error was posted.
You were asked what software, instead "I already know"

So....is there anything else that we should know that you have tried?

Otherwise why dont you just ship it back!!!!!
