Callpilot Reporter problems

Thought we had this sorted but we were wrong!
Callpilot is 2.02 with SU5 installed.
Callpilot manager is the latest pep from nortel, and that is installed on the client pc as well, which is running 2003 server OS.
We get all the right system log messages and can see data from CP, in C:\nortel\data, on the client pc.
we java 1.3.1 xx installed on the client pc, as per ntp.
We can only get out incomplete reports to a pdf file and cannot see any live reports.
we have tried restarting various services, like ISS and WWP, to no avail.
Just to add spice, the first time this was installed it worked fine for 2 days and then stopped for no apparent reason.
tried reinstall etc etc. any ideas?
 
I'm not a CP expert, but if it worked fine for 2 days, then poopoed out, my first thoughts would be Automatic Updates or something pushed out by the network admins.
