I want to assign a free DID number as a dedicated inbound line for remote access to voicemail for users without making the user do the ** thing.
I have the target line assigned and the AA is answering but I just want to hear the system telling me to "enter my mailbox number and password followed by the # sign"
When I assign the callpilot DN to the target line and when I call in, it just tell me that's its an invalid extension. I can work around it with a recorded greeting to hit the ** but I'd like to avoid it all together.
Thanks for the help.

Can't be done... Need to use the ** to access voice mailboxes period..

Just a thought ... don't know if it will work.
Instead of having VM answer the DID, build a target line and assign it to a phantom DN.
Forward All Calls on the DN to the VM DN with a pause and ** in the dial string.
You may acutally have to use a set to do this and then unplug it afterward.
If you use an IP set, you can use the "Keep DN Alive" setting to avoid losing the forward programming in the event of a reboot or power failure.

The only way to insert more digits than the DN length is to have it be an external forward that includes pauses (f78).
