I have a nortel callpilot system connected to a meridian 81c. When I call the cdn 5700, I get the transfer to the callpilot box, but then dead silence.

The tn's have been disabled and reenabled - the server rebooted, and the voice channels and tn's all show active when I call the system, however, still nothing but silence.

Does anyone know how to reload system voice prompts, or if it is safe to walk back through installation without wiping all my settings out to possibly correct the problem?

I have seen this issue before. If your CallPilot a 7xxt series or 1xxxrp series then you may be able to fix this. Shutdown the server and open the case. Look for the MPB16 board. It is where the DSP cards slide into. Once server is shutdown and powered off. Pull this board out. Sometimes this board looses its tracking capability. As in it has an internal time clock that shares the bus to all DSP's (which translates packets to voice and vice versa). The only way I have been able to get this working again is to:

1- pull the DSP's out of mpb16 board
2- pull the mpb 16 bord out of chassis
3- reinstert mpb board into slot
4- reinsert DSP's into slots on the mpb board
5- restart the server
6- check the DSP's (run status and test from the client)

If this does not work then you may have a faulty MPB board.
GoodLuck

Thanks tried reloading the software, re-seating the mpb board and the dsp pcmcia cards, but nothing worked.

Finally got a couple of mgate boards in for the nortel 81c and replaced one - did not work again.

Mark this one down for the record - after talking to Nortel, found out that you must replace both boards at the same time or it will not. Not sure if it is true, but I used my second good mgate and mpb board and it worked. Wish I had the hardware to test the first mgate with the mpb, but I am worried I may burn up the mpb board. Not sure????
