i want to send a fax from the my desktop using the MS outlook out to a fax machine that is out of the callpilot switch[public phone network]...i don't have ldap, dns server...just the callpilot IP(192.168.1.3)?

plz tell me if i need a fax sdn? and how to address my fax.......

note:i have fax capability and fax messaging channels.

Not sure if you have everything set up correctly, but you would need to see a NORTEL FAX from your selection of printers when you go to print the DOC you want to fax.

If you don't then it's probably not setup....

yes i have nortel fax setup and outlook connected to callpilot..but do i need a sdn for fax....and if i need what application should i use???

If you are sending a fax from your PC, did you just try to print from NORTEL FAX? What happens when you do?

no i tested the port 25 it's opened....does the FQND RELATED BECAUSE IAM NOT HAVE A DNS 'I USE JUST THE SERVER IPADRESS....ALSO I DON'T MAKE A PHANTOM DN RELATED TO THE FAX....??

can i take u r phone no. ...because it's very important and i will take to u..or do u have a skybe account?i need to check the setting in the callpilot manager if they r correct

DoLogon SMTP connection failed(smtp is not getting through)

blackeagle85, you might have to contact a local vendor if that is important to you, unless some of the other guys here are setup to accept your offer.

the other ports that you want to double check are, as per install guide:

PROTOCOL NORMAL SSL
IMAP 143 993
SMTP 25 465
LDAP 389 636
HTTP 80 443
FTP 21

i just want to ask u about sdn...do u know is it impportant to specify and configure it ?...i previously told u about that i use the ip address only'not the FQDN'even i specified the LDAP search base...does it have an effect?
note:idon't have a problem with incoming faxes'

SDNs are for inbound, that way you can use the Express fax message application and point it to somone's mailbox.

I have only seen FQDN installs working, not with IP addresses, so I can't advise you if it will work with just the IP.... sorry.

If you are NOT using SSL and SMTP is setup for Unauthenticated, and delivery to Fax is enabled, not much else I can think of

Make sure you have the latest PEPs and client software, but other than that maybe someone else has suggestions?

thank u very much...
SMTP is setup for Unauthenticated???how do i configure it
and what is the PEPS?
i want to tell u that do i need mycallpilotb application?
or just the outlook...thank u again
