I have some Calliplot users with fax enabled lines. The fax function for 2 users stopped working all of a sudden, but still worked fine for other users. When the system detected an incoming fax, it would give an error saying "unable to connect" and drop the call.

After looking at the settings, the 2 users had an extension DN in Callpilot that did not exist. Why those lines don't exist anymore, I have no idea how or why that happened since this has been working for 3 years. So I gave them different fax enabled DNs that already existed, but were not currently being used.

Now when a fax comes through to these 2 users, it connects to a fax line, and trasmits, but the faxes do not end up in these users' mailboxes. Where are these faxes going, and how can I link the fax enabled DNs to their mailbox?

For example, one user has:

MIPCD DN: 1000
DEKSTOP SET DN: 2111, 3111
FAX ENABLED DN: 4111

In their Callpilot they would have:

Extension DNs: 1000 2111 3111 4111

1000 would be dialed to reach this person via voice or fax.

TIA

Hi,

The setup must be as follows:

1 CP Voice CDN (Mail, menu's, etc, etc)
1 CP Multimedia CDN (Fax, Speech, etc, etc)
1 User telephone DN
1 User fax DN

The Telephone number of the user should be forwarded (Hunt, FDN, etc) to the voice CDN. The Fax number should be forwarded to the Multi Media CDN (Best to use a phantom).

In CP you create a mailbox for the user (With fax and desktop enabled) in the DN list you add the DN of the telephone and the DN of the fax. Setup the revert DN and MWI DN as you wish.

In the desktop client you enter the mailbox of the user enter the IP address, etc, etc. And all should work.

If Bill Gates had a nickel for every time Windows crashed... Oh wait, he does...

Mark has it right but why not just recreate the missing DNs deleted Phantoms.
Dont forget to tick auto log on against fax numbers in CP.
