We have 1 voicemail box that is used for our employees to leave a message if they are not coming to work. I would like to use the Desktop messaging to have multiple HR people log into this voicemail box and listen to messages. After listening to the message the subject line is changed to identify who it was that called by name and not just phone number. The problem I have is that the change to the subject line is only seen at the computer that made the change or if someone moves the message to a differnt folder, that is also only available to that person at that machine. (It appears that the messages are stored in a offline store "callpilot.cst".)

Is there any way that we can share a voicemail box so that multiple desktops can access the same information.

Callpilot 2.01i, outlook 2000 and Desktop messaging ver 2.01.27.06.

Thanks for any help you can give me

Hi,

If you put the callpilot.cst on a network share and link all desktop clients to that file, they should be able to use the same offline store...

When you change the subject (Didn't know that was possible...) and you click the send/recieve button in outlook does it change the old subject to the new one on the other clients???

If Bill Gates had a nickel for every time Windows crashed... Oh wait, he does...

I tried pointing people at the same message store file and got sharing violations.

will be very interested in you get a soluction to this, I have a miny call centre with 12 people sharing the same mailbox...

Thanks for the replies

one234 ... Havent tried the sharing of the CST file, Figured I would get a violation ( as HUGWideBoy states). Changing the Subject line only changes the local copy no matter what you do.

HugWideBoy... If you have 12 people sharing a mailbox, how are they working it?

This does not seem to be rocket science. I would think that this would be a great feature that a lot of companies would use.

Only thing I could think of was to move the messages out of the callpilot (local store) into a public folder on the exchange system.

Very messy

sorry
