For reference to anyone else looking, the latest Nortel/Avaya CallPilot Desktop Messaging Client is working properly for me using:
[ul]
[li]CallPilot version: 05.01.04.02 seems to be the last version released from what I can find
The filename is CP5.1Desktop_05010402_full_x32.exe (or CP5.1Desktop_05010402_full_x64.exe for Outlook 64-bit, though I have not tested as only ever use 32-bit Office, even running on 64-bit version of Windows)
[/li]
[li]Windows: Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit[/li]
[li]Outlook: Outlook 2016 (version 1803 (Build 9126.2152 Click=to-Run) at the time of my writing this)[/li]
[/ul]

After installing the client (Outlook closed):
[ol 1]
[li]Click Start → All Programs → AVAYA → CallPilot Desktop Messaging → Add CallPilot to Default Mail Profile". It will ask which location do you want your voice mail and/or faxes to appear:[/li]
○ Your email inbox, so that your CallPilot messages are combined with your regular Outlook email.
○ A separate CallPilot inbox, so that your CallPilot messages are kept separate from your regular Outlook email.
[li]Open Outlook email client[/li]
○ Enter your extension/phone number (4 digits in our case) and voicemail password
○ This will allow you to receive Voicemails in Outlook
[/ol]

You can't manually add a CallPilot Desktop Messaging profile to Outlook 2016 (at least I can't find a way to do it anymore as you can't choose account type of CallPilot Desktop Messaging when setting up a new account) so must use the above to add it to your Outlook profile.

If manually changing settings after CallPilot has been added to your Outlook profile, you can edit the settings through the normal account settings interface, same as in the past/any, same as editing any other Outlook account settings. (Outlook > File tab > Account Settings button > Account Settings... > Select "CallPilot Desktop Messaging" MAPI account > Click "Change..." button)
[ul]
General Tab
Server: BCM Phone System/CallPilot IP address or DNS name
GR Partner: Leave Blank
VPIM Network Shortcut: Leave Blank
Mailbox: Your Extension #
Password: Your Mailbox VM PW
My CallPilot URL: (should auto-populate from server)
Address Book Tab:[/li]
LDAP Search base: ou=users,ou=callpilot (should auto-populate from server)
[/ul]

I have also gotten access to CallPilot voicemail boxes in Outlook in the past by connecting to the system by using IMAP (and username and extension number and VM Password). This also allows you to connect to more than one VM account and can be used in addition to the the above traditional CallPilot Desktop Messaging Client/Outlook interface.

Thanks for the tip as some might still use the old UM/DM method, I personally use the newer Message Forwarding only as simple and goes to smart smart phones.
