Trying to find anyone using SMTP for CallPilot Desktop Messaging, rather than the client on the user’s PC. Just going to start testing this, but my first snag is that our email security appliance doesn’t like that the email seems to come from “@callpilot”. The appliance is looking for a domain suffix like .com. Channel partner says it can’t be changed on the CallPilot end, that we need to allow email to arrive from “@callpilot” in the appliance. Email guy says that’s ridiculous, that in all our years and zillions of emails, servers, systems, etc., no system has ever tried to send email without a domain name attached. He says there has to be a way to change this in CallPilot. Anyone ever deal with this? Thanks!

We use IMAP in instances where people want desktop access to more than 1 CallPilot mailbox.

We just create an additional IMAP account in the Outlook profile for the user.

In the Internet E-Mail Settings window of Outlook, use the following values for the different fields:

User Information: Whatever you want.
Server Information:
Account Type: IMAP
Incoming Mail Server: [Your CallPilot FQDN]
Outgoing Mail Server: [Your SMTP Mail Server]

Logon Information:
User Name: [CallPilot Mailbox Number (May require VPIM+Mailbox)]
Password: [CallPilot Mailbox Password]

The mailbox still must allow desktop messaging in the Class Of Service.
