We recently installed a CallPilot 150. Our phone system is a Modular ICS with with XC 6.1 software. Our connection to the central office is ISDN-PRI connected to a Digital Trunk Interface card.

I am attempting to program a CCR Transfer Node on the CallPilot to dial an external number. The CallPilot allows four Outdial Methods: Line, Pool, Route and Intercom. There are fields for the Line/Pool # and the Phone Number.

Line allows you to select an analog line for outdialing. Intercom allow you to enter a 3-digit DN for the station you want to transfer the call to.

My question relates to using the PRI-A line pool to transfer the caller to an external number. When you select Pool as the Outdial Method, you must enter a value from 1 to 15 in the Pool # field. These values correspond to Line Pools A to O respectively.

Is there any way to use the PRI-A line pool without having to program a Route and Destination Code in the MICS?

Thanks in advance for your help.

What is the method of outdialing now? If there are no Routes/Dest. codes you will not be allowed to dial out across the PRI. If you are not sure try setting the CP150 to route 001, most installers use this one.

There are four Outdial Methods available to transfer calls on the CallPilot 150. The particulars for each are listed below.

From Test2, it appears that only Line Pools A-O (1-15) may be specified. I see no way to specify the use of Line Pool PRI-A to dial an outbound call.

From Test3, it appears that the route is actually a destination code.

I am presently using the "Route" method as illustrated in Test4. To do so, it is necessary to program a Route and a Destination Code in the MICS.

It would be much simpler if one was able to use the Line Pool method, select PRI-A and key in a phone number.

Outdial Method: Line->33 (Line/Pool #)
Phone Number: 5551212
Note: The Outdial Line Number must be a number from 1 and 500.

Outdial Method: Pool->1 (Line/Pool #)
Phone Number: 5551212
Note: The Outdial Pool Number must be a number from 1 and 15.

Outdial Method: Route
Phone Number: 3
Notes:
1. The line/pool number cannot be specified unless a line or a pool is being used.
2. The caller selecting this node will hear, “The routing resources needed for this call are busy. Please try again later.”
3. Route 003 specifies an External # of 5551212 and Uses Pool PRI-A.
4. The Phone Number is actually a destination code, not a route..
5. THIS METHOD DOES NOT WORK!

Outdial Method: Route
Phone Number: 803
Notes:
1. The line/pool number cannot be specified unless a line or a pool is being used.
2. The Phone Number is actually a destination code.
3. Route 003 specifies an External # of 5551212 and Uses Pool PRI-A.
4. Destination Code 803 specifies to Use Route 003 with an Absorbed Length of All.

Outdial Method: Intercom (default)

With the Call Pilot you should be able to select Line, Pool, or Route. But if you need to do it another way then assign a pool that has no use as the outdial. Then for the number just put in the Desti Code plus phone number. This should work just fine.

Thanks hawks. You put me on to the solution. Selecting the Outdial Method: Route and putting the PRI-A outgoing line pool dest code of "9" followed by the called number in the Phone Number field works.

Outdial Method: Route
Phone Number: 95551212 (Dest code + called number)

Why didn't I think of that? Thanks again...
