The addition of any 3rd-party software or hardware to the CallPilot server is not supported other than
approved anti-virus applications (Refer to Product Bulletin P-2003-0151-Global – CallPilot Support for
Anti-Virus Applications for details) or approved Microsoft security updates (Refer to Product Bulletin P-
2005-0056-Global – CallPilot Server Security Update or published Clarify Bulletin System - Product
Security Advisory Alerts). Doing so can destabilize the system; degrade its mission of providing realtime
call processing performance, and cause future upgrades to fail. Refer to Product Bulletin 99067 –
CallPilot Unauthorized Hardware and Software for more information.
Product Bulletin
Bulletin Number: P-2003-0151-Global-rev 4
Date: 17 August 2005
This bulletin replaces all previously issued versions of P 2003-0151 Global.
CallPilot Support for Anti-Virus Applications
Notes:
1. When using McAfee AntiVirus, it‘s important to set the CPU utilization to the Nortel recommended10%, but should not be set at greater than 30%. Having it set to 100% has the potential cause to degrade the performance of the CallPilot server. Please see Appendix section for detailed instructions for your version of McAfee.
2. These versions of the Symantec/Norton AntiVirus application require Internet Explorer 5 or later for the
automatic virus definition updates to occur properly.
As newer versions of the above applications are made available, support for those versions will also be made
available. When applicable, this bulletin will be re-issued announcing the addition.
* CallPilot 1.07 is now in MD status. For information regarding 1.07, please refer to revision 3 of this bulletin
(P-2003-0151-Global-rev 3).
Anti-virus applications should only be installed on the D: drive to avoid utilizing the reserved disk space on the C: drive. This reserved disk space is required for system operations such as upgrades and general maintenance activities.
