callpilot 150 mini guest mailbox

I have created a guest mailbox on my callpilot 150 mini system.
It is accessible if you dial our company's number and enter the mailbox number at the prompt, but if you pick up an office phone and just dial the mailbox number it says 'not in service'

Is this normal, or is there a way I can access it from an office phone?

I have a Norstar MICS 6 phone system.

Normal operation, if you have a spare analog you could program the number there

yes normal operation
internally use the f980 code to go to mailbox
to transfer outside party's use the f986 transfer code
