Callpilot 100 and Direction connection

I have a callpilot 100 and am trying to change the IP address of it. I have tried the crossover cable way but when I do try to get into the system it is like I have the wrong IP address. I have no clue what it would have been changed to. So I tried the serial cable route. still no luck. When I connected the CP to the laptop and ran the Hyperterminal and Terminal both never showed the prompt...
Any ideas?

What IP address are you using? It should be 192.168.10.100.
