CallManager-AD integration without plug-in

Hi all.

I'm on contract for a company that would like to have their CallManager user database linked with Active Directory, but without using the plug-in provided by Cisco. Their reason for not using the plug-in is that they do not want the AD schema modified in any way (I've tried to talk them into using the plug-in, but to no avail).

The way I see it, I can put the AD user info into an ADAM instance via ldifde, put the CM user info into a seperate ADAM instance via whatever means necesary, and then use the Microsoft Identity Integration Feature Pack to ensure the data between the two ADAM instances is the same. Then I can insert the data back into the CallManager and AD directories via a script that runs every night.

My problem is finding the user information from the CallManager (I have already pulled all users out of AD and put into an ADAM instance). Where in the SQL tables does the first name, last name and telephone number reside? I've been scouring Cisco's docs, but there seems to be nothing in there to help me work this out. Since the info resides in an SQL database it shouldn't be hard to pull out, but only if I can find where it resides! Can anyone help with this?

Also, if anyone has actually done this before (either through the method mentioned above or another way completely), could you let me know how it went and if you had any problems at all. Any notes or suggestions would be appreciated.

Cheers,
K.

You will not find the users in the SQL databse. This information is stored in an LDAP on the CCM called DC Directory.

good luck ;_)

This sounds like a risky venture. Does the risk of not getting any support from Cisco if things go wrong not render the project almost worthless?

Course, it sounds like your hands are tied...

Good luck. I had enough problems actually running the Cisco-Approved and tested AD plug in, never mind trying to retro fit a custom solution to do the job!
