Calling out to IVR and recover the call to the same agent

Hi guys
I would appreciate anyone with the experience on this to write a few lines of a vector with the following request:
- Call is queued and answered by an agent
- Agent needs to route the call to an IVR for PCI compliance where the caller enters his credit card number
- After that, the same agent needs to recover the call.

What is the command to perform this and how does it work?
What is the state of the agent while he/she waits for the call to come back? Is there a way of handling it?
