After switching to a new Telco, we have had some issues with our local dialing.

If we only send 7 digits, The Telco passes the call, but our sent caller ID is only 7 digits. This causes several issues.

If we send 10 digits, The Telco rejects the call, their tech say’s we need to send the call type as unknown. When I send it as unknown, my calling number gets turned into just my extension number, and the call is rejected.

(the numbers have been change to protect the innocent)

ANY ideas would be great!

This is a d channel dump of the different formats I am trying to get to work to allow 10 digit dialing,
and 10 digit CLID for local calls.

The Telco then says that they want to see unknown, OK
The cs1000 then sends my CLID as my extension number.

What is your ISDN Protocol and is the new Telco set up the same way. I'm guessing NI2 since that is the most common. Also do you know what kind of C.O. they have, is it a Nortel, AT&T or some other type? Maybe post your D-channel, route and trunk configs. You could try changing the call type to Natl. but that might not be the real fix.

They would like me to set the called number to LOCL and the Calling number to NATL
I do not know how to set them differently.

Anyway here is the dch, It is NI2, I do not know what the telco's switch is.

So, I asked what there switch was.

EWSD Electronic Worldwide Switch Digital

Never heard of it. Now I'm worried. [bluegreedy]

Never heard of that one either. I was hoping it was a Nortel CO, there is a setting in the DMS under the LTDEF table called SL1 profile ,that sometimes needs to be enabled. I have always changed the Call Type through a DMI table to get these to work properly. I'm not sure what those entries on the route are for.

Sorry :(
