Hi All
What I'm looking to do is get Customer name display working on a MD110,

Currently the network trunk is QSIG into the MD110 which can only deliver CLI (no other features) so I want to take the CLI and convert it to a name so when the call hits a digital handset they see the customer name not the number.

Can this be done?
Would we need to change the link to an ISDN?

Regards
Craig

This must work with Q-sig. I suppose there is something not set into the route parameters. So put your ROCAP, RODAP & ROODP from the route here and i check it for you.

Is the other side also an MD110?

We have a MD110 connected to a Cisco router and the problem is the router only supports CLI it cant support the QSIG GFP elements, so the only thing we get into the MD110 is CLI.

We need a way of converting the CLI to a name within the MD110.

I have a problem in name presentation too. MD110 is connected with Definity, Nortel, CallManager (Cisco) through Cisco 3660 router over QSIG. The name presentation does not work in every sides. It can be corrected?

MD110 BC10 CNI141 - Q.SIG, user side:
ROUTE DATA
ROU TYPE VARC VARI VARO FILTER
51 SL60 H'00000310 H'15400000 H'06400000 NO

ROUTE CATEGORY DATA
ROU SEL TRM SERV TRAF SIG BCAP
51 011000000000001 5 3110000001 01080801 011101000031 111111

The name may be transmitted in different fields: Display Information Element and Facility Information Element (in addition, I heard about Code Set 6 field). MD110 detects the name in Facility IE only(?)...

Whitto,

I asked you before. Place the printout of ROCAP, RODAP and RODDP.

Then i can check the parameters.

If your cisco can't support QSIG GFP then I'm afraid it's a no go.Actually there's a feature in the MD110 called DNIS which does this sort of thing , but the problem is that you have link your DNIS number to an ACD group, so that limits the b-number...

Thanks all,

Looks like this cant be done, such a simple thing to...even mobile phones have this function.

Hi whitto,

NIINI:DIR=07811xxx,NAME1="John",NAME2="Smith",NAMDB=YES;

The name John Smith will be associated to the number 07811xxx (Put the full number for DIR) I know its not a DIR but just check it out.

When the Dial by name feature is loaded and the command NIINI is entered, the parameter DIR will take another format: DIR = D1 D2... D20

Hope this helps

Thanks for the info Isinor,

I dont want to dial by name though, What I'm trying to acheive is Name in place of CLI eg:when a call comes into the MD110 (via Qsig) we get a name displayed instead of the CLI.

It needs to work in EXACTLY the same way as it does on a mobile phone.

ie: if you have the person who's calling you in your phone book, their "name" not their CLI is shown on the display. (even though the network only provides CLI) If the caller is'nt in your phonebook then you get the CLI displayed.
Thats how I want the MD110 to work, so we can put a list of customer numbers and extentions into D.N.A. and have them displayed instead of the CLI information.
