This may be more of a OS questions, but here goes.

My Cognos System & batch files are located on Server1\d$\program files\cognos\cer3\bin

My Cubes and macros are located on the same server under
Server1\justbecause\app\areas

I am trying to launch the script below from SQL Server which is on server2

So, server2 calls

\\server1\d$\"program files"\cognos\cer3\bin\runmac32.exe "\\Server1\justbecause\app\areas\CubeRefr.mcx"

DOS does not like this

Thanks,

Larry

Your line has three double quotes. Should they be balanced on both sides?

Larry,
What's your error?
I'm pretty sure you can't get one server in SQL server to call an execution on another server of anything other than SQL server items. Check on the SQL server forums. You'd be better getting server1 to check for the existence of a trigger file or record in a table that server2 will write on completion or failure.
