I know that there should be a way to dial into someone's voicemail to leave a message without ringing their extension. I have tried adding the #2 on the end of the extension number. It doesn't work. Does anyone have any other ideas? I really need to get this to work.

Thanks,
Abbey

I just asked someone else about this and was told that you log into your own voice mailbox, create your message, and then send it to their mailbox.

Thanks for this info. I did realize you can do it this way. However, I need for them to be able to hear the greeting, not just the name announcement.

Thanks, though.

create a voicemail profile with DN *XXXX

(if you use 4 digit extensions, otherwise put an X for every place there is a digit)

check off forward all on the DN page

a user dials *1234 for instance and gets put right into the user at X-1234's VM greeting

so basically "*" telles Callmanager that whetaver extension follows this character is the VM box i want to go to

Like a direct VM transfer

This is excellent. Exactly what I needed.

Thanks a bunch!

I am somewhat confused with how this is done. Could you give me a little more information on this. Thanks.
