Greetings guys.. I've been away for awhile, but I'm glad to be back. :)

I need to know if there is a way to put a phone into a calling group, that it can never be logged out of? (Using the ES2 button)

I've got a number of extensions that are being rung with the 770 CG, it's configured for linear hunting, and will overflow to 771 immediately if noone is available, or if the call would otherwise be queued.

The 771 calling group consists of alot of the same phones (and some others), but this time the 771 CG is a ring-all group, that never overflows.. It just rings until someone answers it.

The problem I am having is that when you logout of the 770 CG with your ES2 button, it actually logs you out of ALL of your calling groups - including the (771) ring-all one!

I don't have any available trunk ports, so I can't do any fun wrap-arounds.. and this is Magix 3, so I have more flexibility regarding what CG's my phones can be members of.

Any help in thinking this through would be appreciated. I've never had to do this before, so I'm asking for ways that some of you have accomplished it before.

Thanks for your time!

- Joel

I can't recall if it is release 3 or 4, but you can use selective login on the Magix. That way, you log in separately to each group. Each, obviously, must be a member of both calling groups. When the agent logs out, they should only log out of 770.

Not clear what you mean: "can never be logged out of" using a button? If button there, button will be pressed.

hrm - I thought I was fairly articulate when I originally composed the question.. Let me try to clarify.

I need the phones to exist (and be logged in) to the 771 ring-all group 100% of the time. I want them to always ring when you dial 771 from a phone.

However, what I'm finding is that when you use the ES2 button - it logs you out of all of your calling groups, not just a selected one or two.

It's been suggested that I can use seperate "login" and "logout" buttons - which I think might be too complicated, as you're then prompted to enter the Calling Group # as part of that process (if I'm not mistaken).

If there was a way to automate it, so when you press this button, it logs you in-to and out-of the 770 group - that would be ideal. I'll be poking around, (no pun intended) to see if I can find anything else helpful.

Anything you would like to add would be immensely appreciated.

Thanks!

A "login" button will be deactivated if the phone that is logged in is not answered. I think what you want is for a group of phones to ring, then go to voice mail if unanswered. If so, don't use the calling group scenario like you are doing. Instead, use a cover button for an adjunct that rngs immediately on the phones, then covers to voice mail if unanswered.

No - What I want is a group of phones to ring in a specific order, and only if the person is ready for calls.

If noone is available, or the calls make it all the way through the linear hunt group - then it overflows to 771 which rings ALL of those same phones, as well as a bunch of warehouse phones, retail counter phones, the CEO's phone, etc..

I'm aware of the automatic logout function - I'm counting on it working like that.
