I have two operators who currently have phantom numbers for their personal voice mail. They currently have primary cover buttons to give them an opportunity to answer their calls but if someone leaves VM their VM inicators don't light. I tried setting up a calling group with a different number from their voice mail extn. then list their VM extn as the only member. I thought this would allow me to set the Message option to light their VM indicators but it just doesnt seem to work. When I ask to be transferred to the Calling Group it just rings with a wierd ring that has a little beep at the end.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

What you do is set the calling group extension to match the vm extension. Then you can set the message indicator option in the calling group to the light the light of the operator extension. If you want the operator to have the opportunity to answer these calls to the calling group, just add them as a member of the group and define the group type as auto login.

Thanks I will try this in the morning.

I suppose I will have to defaut the current Phantom extn. and take off the cover button?

I tried this but could not get it to work. By putting the operators extn as one of the members the system simply transfers the call to the operator and it rings until answered. I tried playing around with the time thresholds but it didn't seem to have any effect.

I restored defaulted the calling group number and restored the adjuct to the phantom extn so everything is back to the way it was.

Thanks for the suggestion. If you have any others they would be greatly appreciated.

Oops...sorry, I wasn't reading the above carefully. You need to set the overflow of the calling group to go to the vm calling group. One of the drawbacks to gaining a mwl is losing the ability to answer these calls so you can't really enter any members to the calling group that will light the light.

Thanks, I think they would rather have a primary cover button that flashes than a MWL. So, I guess I've reached the end of the road on this one.

Thanks again!
