How can I setup a calling group to go to VM when there is no one logged in? I've seen various posts, with no clear answers. It must be possible, why else would there be a message waiting extension that you can program. The calling group is 770, and the VM group is 7929. I created a MB 770 with no extension associated, and when you are transfered to 770, it goes direct to VM. I need to test this when people are logged in but it's almost 1AM so it will have to wait.

To make a calling group go to voicemail: Have it overflow to the voicemail calling group, have no members in it, and set the overflow to 1 call in queue. It sounds like you already have it happening, so it's a little unclear what you are wanting to change.

So to have VM on a group that does have members, do you overflow the 1st group with members to another group that has no members, and overflow the 2nd group to the VM group?
If so, do the messages get left in MB 770 even though you can't add 770 to coverage group 30. I created MB 770 with no phone in Merlin Messaging and it seems that when no one is logged into group 770 the calls go straight to the MB. If so that's great, I just haven't had the chance to test it both ways.

What is it exactly that you want to do?

Here's what they want, all Chevy sales calls go to group 770 which is linear and has X153 and X170 with an overflow to 7929 (VM)
8 phones in Chevy sales have cover buttons for X170. X153 takes all of the calls but when X153 goes home, he logs out, and the calls go to X170, and ring all the cover phones. When they leave, calls to Chevy sales go through the AA to group 770, but because no one answers, X170 auto-logouts, and the calls go to MB 770. Does that make sense, and is there a better way? Compared to the newer GUI based systems, it seems you have to jump through hoops to set up a Magix

I THINK I understand what is expected. If both phones, 153, and 170 are logged out, then the calls will immediately overflow to Voice Mail, in this case, MB 770.

That is what I'm hoping for, I can't test it again until they go into night service at 6pm. Sub menu 2 of selector code 4 is pointed to 770, and late last night it was going right to the mailbox, and this morning I had them log in, and it's ringing the group phones correctly so maybe by dumb luck, I set it up right

I'm hoping there's no difference between the operator transfering to 770, and using a selector code through the AA

It didn't work, the calls are going right to VM even though people are logged into the group. During the day when the operator transfers the calls it works fine
