Calling Group rings as internal

This drives my users nuts, anyone have a workaround:
I need to have all incoming calls ring on a bunch of phones simultaneously, the way I do this is with a hunt group configured as a Calling Group. Problem is that it rings as an internal call even though I have the external ring configured to sound differently. :-(
Is there a way to fix this with an ACD or something?

Not really because the hunt group is considered an internal number. Though I have ran into similar issues with users complaining about not knowing where the call is coming from. But when a call rings off of the hunt group, it will display the hunt group name on the phones that it is ringing. So if you're hunt groups dont have a descriptive name on them, you could try that route and just tell the users to be aware of what is on the phone screen.

Version 6 says it supports Calling Groups in ACD's do you know if I switch from a hunt group to an ACD will that ring as external? (trying to justify cost of an upgrade)
The LCD is helpful but we don't have callerID so they don't really look at it, plus with wireless headsets they're not next to the phone.
