I've searched but I can't seem to find the solution to my problem. Running ACS R7 and Messaging R7.

I have Calling Group 1 assigned to extensions 20 and 21.
20 has a voicemail box and 21 doesn't. I want calls transferred to Calling Group 1 to be answered by 20's Voicemail if nobody picks up. Right now if I transfer to the group it just rings and rings and bounces back to me (10) or the extension of whoever made the xfer.

Extension 20's settings in ACS PC Admin:
Call Coverage Rings: 2
Abbrev. Ringing: Active
Auto Ext Priv: Not Assigned
VIOB Ext: Not Assigned
Autmatic VMS Cover: Assigned
VMS Cover Rings: 3
Call Waiting Ext: Not Assigned
Tranfer Return Ext: 20

Extension 21's settings in Admin
(Same as 20 except for Auto VMS Cover and have Transfer Return set to 20)
Call Coverage Rings: 2
Abbrev. Ringing: Active
Auto Ext Priv: Not Assigned
VIOB Ext: Not Assigned
Autmatic VMS Cover: NOT Assigned
VMS Cover Rings: 3
Call Waiting Ext: Not Assigned
Tranfer Return Ext: 20

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

Build a mailbox of your calling group (71) then assign it's operator as ext 20. (this will be done in mail box 71.
Then under the admin (0#) box you will tell mailbox 71 that it's phantom box is 20. (option 9 I believe) This will allow calls from the AA (digits dial were 71) to ring on the x20 and x21 then go to voice mail looking to match the dialed digits of 71 with a box. When it sees mbox 71 it will associate it with mailbox 20 and the message will be left in 20's box. Hope that is clear enough.

Ok I did this. (I had everything set as you described except I had nothing set in the operator extension).

Still just rings and rings forever if I do Int 71.

It will have to be a call on an outside line transferred to ext. 71, not just an internal call on the intercom. Also, if you followed the manual when setting up the voice mail, it told you to assign #306 (transfer return extension) for each of the voice mail ports to redirect them to Ext. 10. You will need them to be set to themselves.

I have the transfer return extension set to 20 on both ext 20 and 21 which are the 2 extensions in calling group 71. I just called in from an outside line and tranferred to 71 and it rang for a while then bounced back to the person's extension that transferred the call for me.

No, what you need to do is for the voice mail ports, set their transfer return extensions to themselves. So, when they transfer a call to 71, and it is not answered, it returns to the VM port that sent it. Then it will come along with the ID that it is returning from 71, and cover to mailbox 71.

Now, as far as transferring from a live phone, as opposed to the auto attendant, it's going to come back to the extension that transferred it, every time. You won't be able to get voice mail coverage in this situation.

hey there toxmox i was curious about a previous thread you had about the remote admin not connecting were you using a RAC and if not would you happen to have the pin out adapter and exactally how you got it to work im having the same problem and ive tried cable after cable and adapter after adapter TIA
