The situation. Customer has a calling group of a sales team that answers calls. The problem, you cannot cover to a partner VM after x amount of rings or if no answer. I thought if we connected a answering machine as an extension and include this in the calling group, it would work. But the MOH won't release the call to the machine? Any suggestions?

THANKS!

depends on the type of vm they have
if the calling group, say is 72,create a phantom m-box 72
the calls should cover to 72.note no vm lights will light.
but it depends on the v-mail FRANK C

The Partner will not let you assign Auto VMS Cover to Extension (Calling Group) 72. Does the Amanda do supervised transfers? That is, does it not release the transfer until it detects that the ringing ends, so it it doesn't get an answer after a period of time, or a busy signal, it will transfer instead to a mailbox?

The original senario _should_ work, having a additional extension in the calling group, because it is receiving ring at the same time as the other extensions. I don't really follow the note: " But the MOH won't release the call to the machine?" Not sure what Music-on-Hold has to do with the answering machine picking up. Have you dialed the A.M. extension directly? Double checked that it is indeed in the calling group, and receiving ring?

Yes I have dialed directly to the machine and works fine. What is happening is caller calls in and options 5 for sales off the attendant then is put on hold hearing MOH while call is sent to calling group 72. The machine does indeed pick up after 6 rings, but the attendant doesnt' release the call, being the outside caller continues the entire time to hear MOH.

Hi Vmail,
There is no difference between your answering machine and a phone in picking up the call. Is it possible that your transfer return has taken the call back first. Try to reduce the machine pickup to 4 rings as an experiment. You may have to extend your transfer return rings setting.

Voice mail coverage to a group: You need 1 line port, 1 extra ext.
Create group for (sales) assign members. Add available ext to group. put 1 pair line cord in ext X and plug other end into available line y port. Assign vms line coverage to line y. Now when calles are tranfered to group #?, rings at all members including ext. #x. When no one answers calls will go to covering ext. for line y.

hope this helps..

Situation:
ACS Partner and ACS VM.
2 CO lines, 8 stations.
would like to setup CNG where auto attendant detects a incoming call and route voice call to general greeting and fax call to an extension which is already connected with fax machine.

need help to setup CNG.
Thank you

Which VM? If you are talking about Partner Messaging, create a FAX extension in the extensions menu (option 4), and assign the FAX extension port to hunt group 8 in the ACS (#505-8-XX-1). Be sure to set the lines to no ring for the FAX extension.

The Auto Attendant will answer the incoming call, detech the CNG tone, and transfer to the FAX extension.

Hi smaqsood,
Any vm should work. Make sure there are no fax extensions programed in the voicemail. Program the ACS as TouchToneTommy's post indicates. The ACS will listen for the cng and direct the call from the attendant greeting. Mine is set up on an old Partner Mail R1.8 with the fax extension deprogramed, on an ACS R5.0. Works great.
