Hello,
we have 2 PBX system, Nortel CS1K and Avaya red Rel.8.0. These 2 systems are connected via qsig tie trunks. On both systems our extension are 4 digit but we are also using avaya workplace app and extension for these are 5 digit. When we dial a 5 digit extension from Nortel system it gives us a fast busy tone. When we dial it from avaya red system call goes through without any issue . From the avaya app we can dial to a Nortel 4 digit extension. Any advise on how this can be fixed.
Our vendor told us we cannot add a 5 digit dial plan to NOrtel system.

Thanks

You need to post your query on the CS1000 forum at.
Your vendor is wrong. The Nortel extensions can be up to 7 digits long.

My suggestion is to download the attachment and run the Conversion utility excel tool to obtain a snapshot of the current Nortel CS1000.

Instructions are given in the file.
The Networking worksheet will probably be worthwhile looking at as it will tell you what digits are used to call out and I expect it will be fairly easy to change the FLEN length to 5 etc.
