Calling Active X within FileMaker Pro 5.5

Hi,

I was hoping that somebody maybe able to help. Can somebody please demonstrate to me how to call an activex object within FileMaker Pro 5.5, I am presuming that this is possible. If it is not possible can somebody please give me some ideas on how to proceed forward to call an object or program external to the FileMaker Pro DB.
