When folders are shared across a network it is possible for a client to gain access to these folders and any executables within. If these executables are for example installation files and you run them, they install on your client machine and not on the server.

Does anyone know how i might do the following:
I plan to have an executable file resident on a server.
I want to be able to execute this program from a client work-station.
It will perform actions on the server and not on the client (machine that calls the program).

Can you help.?
Once again any info would be appreciated.

Yes, but I think that you have the wrong forum. Try a general networking or hardware forum.

If you want and are able to, you can remove this because i've started a new thread in another forum.

Once again, sorry.
