Guru,

If there is any change in a specific field in a table, i need to trigger an event like calling a perl/shell script. Is it possible to call scripts from a stored procedure/trigger ? If so, how ? Can you please point me to some example code ?

Thanks for your time.

You need to have the XP server running (Ask your DBA) and use xp_ routines from within transact SQL/sp etc.

For example exec xp_cmdshell 'ls ~sybase' will list all UNIX files under Sybase home directory etc.

Hope this helps
