I've been asked to create a mailbox on my Octel 250 that the receptionist can transfer callers to to hear directions to get to our office. They want the caller to hear the directions, then be able to press a key to repeat them, or press 0 if they still want to talk to an operatory. It was suggested that I build a type 33 caller's menu + mailbox but when I look at that type of mailbox I can't figure out at all how I would do this. I appreciate your assistance. Thank you.

you should use a type 1 MB and then follow it with a type 31.

the type 1 will need to be setup for limited/no prompting and then you send the directions to it as a message from a type 0 mailbox. you then set the callers destination mailbox as the type 31 and add a press 1 to repeat the directions or 0 for an operator.

you should also setup a contributors list in the type 1 so that only one or 2 mailboxes can send messages to it. That way someone can't send a message to it that everyone will hear on purpose or by accident.

Also make sure to put the type 1 in a class of service that can save messages forever so the message does not auto delete.
