callers cant hear me using headset on 9608

We have several 9608 IP phones that are having issues when using a headset
The users can hear the person they are calling very well, however the called party can just barely hear my user
Is there a setting on the phone I can adjust to boost the mic???

Are you sure the headset is a supported type?

acss sme acis sme acss cm 5.2.1 acss cm and cmm acss aura messaging.

What is the headset and what is the interface cable being used? Most headset vendors have some type of compatability table/index which identifies the proper combination to use with a 9608.
