Reinstallinga Partner ACS with 18ds. My local Telco. provides both name and number CID. I know I can use a station button for DISPLAY of CID which will toggle between Name and Number.

Is there anyway to display both the name and number at the same time and leave out the DISPLAY toggle button on the set?

Also, whe a cll is ringing before the station users answers the CID is not being displayed. How can I get the set to display CID as soon as the lines start ringing and without answering or pushing a button.

The stations users need to know who is calling prior to answering each call.

YOu will need a caller ID name button and a caller ID inspect button. Feature 16 and feature 17.

The name buttone will toggle between name/number. Inspect works if you are on a line and a call comes in, press inspect and touch the ringing line, and CID info will pop up without the person you are speaking with noticing anything.

For the CID info to pass, the callneeds to ring 1.5 times. Maybe that is the reason the information isn't popping up.

Got it. Jeeze Partner sure does need a lot of buttons for CID. Regarding the delay when a call come sin. IS there any way that the call will not ring on any set until it has run 2 rings so the CID is there?

Yes, but would that not cause a call to have to wait about 4 rings before actually ringing on the set or can the ring cycle be changed?

Dave

I believe the cycle is preset. I checked the documentation and Avaya says the phone will ring after 20 seconds.

Partner ACS Release 4 and later support caller ID name and number to be shown on the phones while the call is ringing ( no need for caller ID name key)

The R3 and earlier required required the name key

Release 6 and later enhance the caller ID even further passing the Caller ID to the extensions immediately during an automated attendant transfer.
