I installed a 408 board with Caller ID on an R6 V10 Legend. Caller ID will not display; I was on a joint visit w/ the carrier so I know it works at the block according to their equipment. I went into lines/trunks to change the delay and when I try and input the trunk number I get waveoff. I know the trunk numbers are right. Any suggestions? When you call, the display says 'no caller ID.' Thanks in advance.

For caller ID on an 408 MLX-ID card to work, you need an R7

an 800 GS/LS-ID is supported on an R3 or newer (which an R6 is)

Just found it on the Avaya web site: Guess they need a Magix anyway...

Three modules supply the ports capable of processing Caller ID information:

800 GS/LS-ID module
408 GS/LS ID MLX module (This module is backwards compatible but only supports the display of Caller ID information in Release 7.0 and later systems.)
412 LS-ID-TDL modules (available in Release 7.0 and later systems)

TDL cards are not supported by the Merlin Legend. They are Magix cards.

I think the TDL worked on R7 - BTW that snippet above is a cut and paste from the Avaya support site... now I am curious and must check :)

I am going to check this out... because I am 99% sure I had an R7 in my office for a long time and I used a TDL board for a 3810 - or 3910 - whatever the wireless phone was. (99% sure it was an R7 and not a Magix... not 99% sure I had phones in my office...)

So of course I am wrong and Merlinman is right :) A public apology to my friend for ever doubting him... the good news is this test forced me to install a Merlin in my tech area; I replaced our phone system with an IP Office and have been needing a Magix for testing...Although I did get my quote directly from the Avaya support site. I must also point out that I have learned 100% more from this site than I ever did from Avaya...

You may have confused the Merlin Legend R7's ETR (Partner) capabilities with the TDL that works with Magix only.

If you think about it, the Legend R7 supported everything EXCEPT the TDL in the way of Merlin Telephones.

That's why I usually recommend it. It was EXTREMELY Versatile.
